LONDON, Apr. 17 -- Global Energy Development PLC recorded oil shows from the production test of its Luna Llena 2 well on its Luna Llena exploration and production concession in Colombia. The company produced 1,000 b/d of fluid and in a second test lasting 13 hr found that the bs&w ratio averaged 55% with a low bs&w ratio of 8%.

"We believe that there is a possibility that we could produce 400 b/d of oil," a spokeswoman for Global Energy told OGJ. The company said the result is encouraging because it had been expecting a maximum flow of 200 b/d of oil.

The Luna Llena 2 well was drilled horizontally to 2,980 ft TD and hit El Miedo sandstone in the Upper Carbonera C3 formation in which it found oil shows and oil stained cuttings. The El Miedo sandstone is "a high porosity reservoir consisting of clean, well-developed sands and favorable calculated oil saturation," Global Energy said. "The oil saturation calculations and other field data indicated the El Miedo reservoir has the potential to flow a high percentage of oil."

The well produced 19º gravity oil from El Miedo during testing with a productivity index of 1.5. Global Energy is analyzing the sample to collect further data.

The company will appoint an independent technical consultant to estimate the reserves in the Luna Llena property and will plan a field development program.
