LONDON, Oct. 10 -- BP Norge AS has let a $125 million contract to Subsea 7 Inc. for flowline installations in Skarv and Idun fields in the Norwegian North Sea.

Subsea 7 will engineer, fabricate, and install 42 km of single flowlines for the fields, which are on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, 200 km west of Sandnessjoen, between Norne field (35 km to the north) and Heidrun (45 km to the south).

The lines will consist of 35 km of 12-in. and 10-in. clad production flowlines and 7 km of 10-in. carbon steel gas injection flowlines to be installed in 350-450 m of water. A direct electrical heating cable will be attached to the 13-km Idun flowline, which is a part of the 35-km production flowlines.

Subsea 7 will use its Skandi Navica pipelay vessel to install the lines by second quarter 2010.
