HOUSTON, Oct. 23 -- The Corcel-1 discovery well in the Llanos basin 60 miles east of Bogota, Colombia, went on 6-month production test Sept. 7 and is averaging more than 4,500 b/d of oil with a 10% water cut, said operator Petrominerales Ltd.
Petrominerales, which is developing Corcel, has identified five more prospects from its 47 sq km 3D seismic survey, which covers 15% of the 79,815-acre Corcel block.
Meanwhile, the company cased as a potential oil well the Conga-1 exploratory well on the Las Aguilas block near Orito oil field in the Putumayo basin. Testing is to start in November.
At Corcel, Petrominerales will soon spud the Corcel-3 delineation well after Corcel-2 cut 125 ft of high quality reservoir sands in the Tertiary Mirador and Guadalupe formations. The company plans to perforate and complete 45 ft of sand in four Upper and Lower Mirador intervals. TD is 12,140 ft.
The company plans to shoot 3D seismic in 2008 on the 26,341-acre Guatiquia block, which adjoins Corcel to the south.
