Mozambique announces third licensing round

Mozambique has invited operators to submit bids for blocks in its third licensing round, which will open in December.

LONDON, Nov. Mozambique has invited operators to submit bids for blocks in its third licensing round, which will open in December.

Details have not been given on how many blocks will be offered, but Mozambique's National Petroleum Institute has indicated that it will offer onshore and offshore acreage spanning 80,000 sq km.

Mozambique has asked PGS Reservoir to coordinate the data for the licensing round, which will close on June 18, 2008.

Operators already present in the country include Petronas, Eni SPA, StatoilHydro, and Anadarko Corp.
