HOUSTON, Apr. 7 -- Lukoil-Perm has started development of Gabyshevskoye oil field in the Oktyabrsky district in the south of the Perm region. It didn't disclose drilling plans.

Lukoil-Permneft discovered the field in 1998 and has drilled four exploration and appraisal wells.
Analysis of a 1997-98 seismic survey identified three structural highs designated Gabyshevskoe, North-Gabyshevskoe, and Malo-Tartinskoe.

Oil pay is of Famennian age. The field's recoverable oil reserves are estimated at 187,000 tonnes. The field is producing 12.3 tonnes/day/well from three wells. Production is expected to peak at 20,000 tonnes/year in 2008.
