Statoil, Pertamina sign E&P cooperation agreement

Indonesian state-owned Pertamina and Norway's Statoil ASA signed a memorandum of understanding that provides a framework for analyzing joint exploration and production opportunities. No specific projects were mentioned, however.

HOUSTON, Sept. 13 -- Indonesian state-owned Pertamina and Norway's Statoil ASA signed a memorandum of understanding that provides a framework for analyzing joint exploration and production opportunities. No specific projects were mentioned, however.

The agreement outlines that E&P work will start initially in Indonesia and then potentially begin in other countries.

Indonesia President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Norway Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg attended the signing ceremony in Oslo.
