Pakistan awards RDC, Paige, Nativus three blocks

KARACHI, Apr. 12 -- Pakistan on Apr. 6 granted three petroleum exploration licenses in Punjab Province to three companies engaged in various joint ventures:
-- Paige Ltd. and RDC International (Pvt) Ltd. received Block No 2972-2 (Cholistan) covering an area of 2478 sq km in Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar districts.
-- Nativus Resources Ltd. and RDC International Ltd. received Block No. 3072-4 (Shakarganj West) covering an area of 2479 sq km in Vihari, Pakpatan, Sahiwal, and Bahawalnagar districts.
-- RDC International (Pvt.) Ltd. and Paige Ltd. received Block No 3073-3 (Punjab) covering an area of 2410 sq km in Okara, Sahiwal, and Pakpatan districts.
The joint ventures of Paige, Nativus Resources, and RDC International will invest $1.3 million in the initial term of 3 years under these exploration licenses for geological and geophysical studies, high resolution satellite data processing and interpretation, purchase and reprocessing of existing seismic data, acquisition of gravity and magnetic stations, a microseep survey, 2D seismic data acquisition, and drilling of exploratory drill holes.
Paige, Nativus, and RDC International currently are involved in exploration activities in the Lugai, Murgha Faqir Zai, Ladgesht, Multani, Huramzai, and Changai blocks.
