LONDON, Aug. 6 -- Global Energy Development PLC has contracted Compania Geofisica Latinoamericana SA (CGL) to shoot seismic over the Colombian Rio Verde contract.

CGL will acquire 18 km of 2D seismic and 109 km of 3D seismic. The work is scheduled to be finished in September 2009.

“The seismic is being acquired to more fully image the Boral and Tilodiran geologic structures . . . already proven as productive through the company's successful drilling on the contract area last year,” said Global Energy.

It will use the data to drill a well on the Boral structure in the first quarter of 2010 and develop a drilling program for other structures.

The Rio Verde contract spans 75,000 acres in the Central Llanos region and is 40 km from its Alcaravan contract area. The area is estimated to hold 2P reserves of 6.1 million boe.
