HOUSTON, Mar. 3 -- Petrominerales Ltd., Bogota, reported test rates of 1,300-1,400 b/d of light oil at two wells on the Mapache block east of Yopal in Colombia's Llanos basin.

Petrominerales plans to shoot a further 91 sq km of 3D seismic on the block, to which it has not yet assigned reserves.

The Mapache-2 exploration well averaged 1,300 b/d of 34° gravity oil on initial 30-hr test from 9 ft of Tertiary Upper Carbonera C7 sand. It also swabbed 515 b/d of 34° gravity oil from Eocene Upper Mirador.

The company installed a 3,500-b/d capacity electric submersible pump and a 5,000-b/d production facility and is evaluating alternatives for year-round production.

Meanwhile, the Mapache-1 well tested 1,400 b/d of 34° gravity oil at less than 2% water cut from Mirador.
