Total gets Pelotas deepwater block off Uruguay

Total SA has been awarded an exploration license for a deepwater block in the Pelotas basin offshore Uruguay.

Total SA has been awarded an exploration license for a deepwater block in the Pelotas basin offshore Uruguay.

Block 14 covers 6,690 sq km in 2,000-3,500 m of water 250 km off the coast. ANCAP awarded the license, which remains subject to approval by other Uruguayan authorities.

Total also has interests in Argentina, Brazil, and Bolivia.
