BANGKOK, Mar. 4 -- Thailand's current petroleum concession bid round has attracted another applicant, a partnership of Japan's consulting firm in water resource development Sanyu Consultants and Proj-M Ltd.

The group has applied for Block L54/50, a 3,270 sq km onshore tract in the country's southern plains around Phangnga province.

It was the only applicant in the eighth submission month that ended Feb. 15.

The Department of Mineral Fuels said there are still 27 blocks available for bidding until May out of a total 65 blocks that were offered in the current 20th round.
