Kazakhstan invites Indian companies to join development of two fields

Kazakhstan has offered to let Indian companies participate in the development of two oil and gas fields.

MUMBAI, Feb. 12 -- Kazakhstan has offered to let Indian companies participate in the development of two oil and gas fields.

Kazakh officials offered participation in the offshore Karazhanbas oil and gas field development to ONGC Videsh, the overseas arm of Indian state-owned Oil & Natural Gas Corp.

They have also invited Gas Authority of India Ltd. to participate in the development of Amengaldi gas field. GAIL has indicated an interest.

The offer came as Kazakh Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Vladimir Shkolnik met with Indian Petroleum Minister Ram Naik in New Delhi.
