Brunei Shell awards Technip-Coflexip lump-sum contract for Egret field

HOUSTON, Jan. 29 -- Brunei Shell Petroleum Co. has awarded Technip-Coflexip Group a contract related to the $80 million development of Egret field off Brunei (OGJ, Jan. 7, 2002, p. 40).
Under a lump-sum $22 million contract, Technip-Coflexip will be responsible for project management, engineering, procurement, and fabrication.
Main facilities include a 12-slot drilling platform with an 860-ton topside and 770 ton jacket, to be installed in 60 m of water; a 25-km, 20-in. multiphase pipeline; and a 15-km subsea cable.
Technip Far East and affiliate Technip Engineering Brunei will execute the contract in Kuala Lumpur. Completion is expected in the fourth quarter 2003.
Technip-Coflexip also said that Total Raffinaderij Nederland NV has awarded it an engineering services contract for modification of a hydrogen plant at its 149,342 b/d refinery at Vlissingen, the Netherlands. Work will be finished by December.
