BIG BATCH OF TRACTS OFFERED OFF NORWAY

Norway plans its biggest offshore licensing round since the first allocation in 1965. The 13th round will cover 52 blocks-22 in the North Sea, 5 in the Norwegian Sea, and 25 in the Barents Sea. Applications will close Sept. 14, and blocks are scheduled to be awarded near the end of the year. The North Sea allocation is designed to make available prospects that, if productive, could be linked into the existing offshore platform and pipeline network.
