Burullus Gas lets contract for development offshore Egypt

Burullus Gas Co. let a contract to Longitude Engineering to provide design and engineering services for subsea work offshore Egypt.

Burullus Gas Co. let a contract to Longitude Engineering to provide detailed design and engineering services for subsea development of Phase-X at West Delta Deep Marine (WDDM) concession, part of Burullus gas field about 90 km offshore Egypt in the Mediterranean Sea on the northwestern portion of the Nile Delta.

Phase-X includes bringing online three subsea wells to supplement the existing 70 wells currently in production. Water depth at the site is 450-660 m. WDDM reservoirs have been developed to maintain current and future gas supplies to the Egyptian domestic market and the Egyptian LNG (ELNG) plant.

Longitude’s design and engineering services will cover various phases of the project starting with the vessel assurance for cable laying operations, the detailed design of cable routing and crossing, jumpers design, and development of the project’s related safety studies to support cable and jumper installation. Longitude will also provide verification and development of fabrication and assurance drawings and reports in connection with mud mats and a new jumper design.

Burullus Gas is a joint venture comprised of Shell Egypt (BG Delta Ltd.), a subsidiary of Shell plc., Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co. (EGAS), Egyptian General Petroleum Corp. (EGPC), and Petronas. Burullus Gas is operator of the WDDM concession.
