ExxonMobil Corp. contractor Modec Guyana Inc. has signed Jumbo Offshore Installation Contractors BV for the pre-installation of the mooring spread of the Errea Wittu FPSO to be sited offshore Guyana.

Modec was authorized to proceed with the engineering , procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) scope for the FPSO in May 2023 following ExxonMobil Guyana Ltd.’s final investment decision to develop the $12.7-billion development Uaru project, the operator’s fifth development on Stabroek block in Guyana (OGJ Online, Apr. 28, 2023). Uaru will have a production capacity of about 250,000 gross b/d of oil with production targeted to startup in 2026.

The FPSO will have the capacity to store 2 million bbl of oil. It will produce about 250,000 b/d of oil and will have gas treatment capacity of 540 MMcfd, and water injection capacity of 350,000 b/d.

The FPSO mooring system will be supplied by SOFEC Inc., a Modec Group company, and consists of a total of 19 mooring legs.

Jumbo Offshore will use its heavy lift construction vessel Fairplayer, which allows the transport and installation of the 19 suction anchors, 8,800 m of chain sections, and 43,168 m of polyester rope in the minimal amount of installation voyages, the company said.
