bp to decommission Kate field wells

bp PLC let a contract to Well-Safe Solutions to support decommissioning of two suspended wells in Kate field in the North Sea, 220 km from Aberdeen.

bp PLC has contracted Well-Safe Solutions to support decommissioning of two suspended wells in Kate field in the North Sea, 220 km from Aberdeen.

Work is expected to be executed from the Noble Innovator jack up rig during this year's second quarter, the service provider said in a release Mar. 9.

Well-Safe will establish and evaluate subsurface isolation criteria including identifying and quantifying zones of flow potential and risks associated with redevelopment. It also will also examine existing barriers and optimize barrier strategy.
