Equinor has consent to drill exploration well 30/11-U-2 in production license PL 035 and 272 in the North Sea from Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA).

Equinor has consent to drill exploration well 30/11-U-2 in production license PL 035 and 272 in the North Sea from Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA).

Drilling is intended to investigate whether there is shallow gas where plans are to install unmanned wellhead facilities for development of Krafla and Askja fields.

The well will be drilled by the West Hercules in 107 m of water and is expected to take 4 days.

Equinor is operator of PL 035 and 272 (50%) with partner Aker BP ASA (50%) (OGJ Online, June 11, 2020).
