Namibia’s Ministry of Mines & Energy has appointed EnerGulf Resources Inc., Houston, as interim operator of Block 1711 off northernmost Namibia.

HOUSTON, Sept. 9
– Namibia’s Ministry of Mines & Energy has appointed EnerGulf Resources Inc., Houston, as interim operator of Block 1711 off northernmost Namibia.

As interim operator, the company will continue and complete the full and thorough analysis of the Kunene-1 drilling and testing. The resulting geological information will be used to further evaluate the current and additional prospects, identify future drilling locations, and consider potential re-entry of Kunene-1.

EnerGulf reported on the completion of drilling activities of Kunene-1 that significant hydrocarbon shows were encountered (OGJ Online, July 23, 2009).

Block coventurers are NACOR Investments Ltd., an affiliate of Sintez Group, 70%, EnerGulf 10%, PetroSA 10%, Namibia’s NAMCOR 7%, and Kunene Energy, the local BEE group, 3%.
