HOUSTON, Sept. 29 – Two acid treatments using coiled tubing in the past 3 days have sharply improved productivity from the Tindalo-1 well off northwest Palawan Island, Philippines, said TG World Energy Corp., Calgary.
Natural flow is 5,000 b/d of oil at less than 1% water cut. Further acidizing and well stimulation, including use of an electric submersible pump, may be undertaken in coming days to further increase output.
Operator Nido Petroleum Ltd., Perth, drilled the sidetrack 1,820 m south-southwest of the original Tindalo-1 bottomhole location. The sidetrack intersected 180 m of reservoir within the top 50 m of the oil column, giving roughly 120 m of near horizontal producing section.
Participants in SC 54A in the Northwest Palawan basin are Nido, TG World, Kairiki Energy Ltd., and Trafigura Ventures III BV.
