HOUSTON, Aug. 23
– The Australian subsidiary of Rodinia Oil Corp., Calgary, let a contract to Terrex Seismic, Perth, for a 2D seismic survey on PEL 81 and PEL 253 in the nonproducing frontier Officer basin of western South Australia.

The survey of 1,900 line-km is to start in October 2010 and take 6 months to complete. The program, 700 miles northwest of Adelaide, includes lines over Rodinia’s top ten drill leads and new seismic in areas of previous limited coverage, such as the east end of PEL 81, and infill seismic to convert leads into drillable prospects in the sparse grid in central PEL 81.

Rodinia’s Officer Basin Energy Inc. subsidiary sees potential reservoirs in the Precambrian Murnaroo, Tarlina, Mundallio, Emeroo, and Pindyin formations as deep as 2,500 m.

Terrex Seismic plans to use a frontier crew with special vehicles and camp equipment to operate efficiently in the remote areas of the Great Victoria Desert.
