HOUSTON, Feb. 13 -- Devon Energy Corp., Oklahoma City, has joined a geological and geophysical assessment of the country's sedimentary basins to be carried out by Fusion Petroleum Technologies Inc., The Woodlands, Tex.
National oil company COHYDRO joined the effort last fall. The three-phase study is to be completed by 2009 in support of licensing. Fusion is seeking other participants.
The barely explored, 750,000-sq-km Central basin dominates the interior of the 2.4 million sq km country, which borders nine other African nations (OGJ Online, July 11, 2005).
