ExxonMobil's Brazilian unit has drilled the Guarani exploration well on the BM-S-22 license in the Santos basin off Brazil to 5,424 m measured depth, said 40% participant Hess Corp., New York.

HOUSTON, June 3 -- ExxonMobil's Brazilian unit has drilled the Guarani exploration well on the BM-S-22 license in the Santos basin off Brazil to 5,424 m measured depth, said 40% participant Hess Corp., New York.

Drilling operations continue with a sidetrack and coring as part of the evaluation program, Hess said. The well is in 2,238 m of water.

ExxonMobil is operator with 40% interest, and Brazil's Petrobras has 20%.
