HOUSTON, June 18 – TAG Oil Ltd., Vancouver, BC, will acquire the 69.5% interest it didn’t own in the Cheal and Greater Cheal blocks in New Zealand’s Taranaki basin from receivers of Austral Pacific Energy Ltd.
Consulting engineers assigned 530,000 boe of proved and probable reserves to Cheal oil and gas field. The field and its production station are in PMP 38156-S and PEP 38738-01.
