HOUSTON, June 15 -- Harvest Natural Resources Inc., Houston, has spud an exploratory well projected to 18,000 ft in northeastern Utah’s Uinta basin.

Harvest is operator with 50% interest in the 1 Bar F, in 20-3s-2w, Duchesne County 15 miles east of the town of Duchesne and on the south flank of giant Altamont-Bluebell oil and gas field.

The company expects 80 days of drilling followed by 90 days of production tests, if warranted. The wildcat targets three undisclosed formations.

The well is on the Antelope prospect in Duchesne and Uintah counties. The company has identified other prospects, leads, and ideas on its 26,000 net acres.
