HOUSTON, Jan. 21 -- Northern Petroleum PLC's Netherlands subsidiary said two wells on the southern part of the Andel III license flowed gas-condensate at better than expected rates.

After fracs, the Wijk en Aalburg well, formerly Andel-6, flowed at the rate of 6 MMcfd in 48 hr on a 28/64-in. choke, and the Brakel well flowed at the rate of 15.8 MMcfd in 20 hr on a 44/64-in. choke. The flow rate at Brakel was much greater than any previous predictions.

Both fields produce from Triassic Bunter sandstone.

Analysis indicates that production could be sustained at rates toward the upper limit of the gas plant design capacity of about 11 MMcfd. The levels of liquids per unit volume of gas recovered during testing were also higher than anticipated.

License interests are Northern Petroleum Netherlands 45%, EBN 40%, and Dyas BV 15%.
