Norway: Barents Eik prospect found noncommercial

Preliminary results indicate that the 7228/1-1 exploratory well being drilled on the Eik prospect in the Barents Sea offshore Norway does not contain commercial hydrocarbons, said Norwegian Energy Co. ASA, Stavanger.

Noreco is operator with 50% interest in the PL396 license 200 km northeast of North Cape. Front Exploration AS has 30% and Petoro AS has 20%.
