Equinor Energy AS drilled a dry well 130 km northwest of Bergen in the North Sea.

Exploration well 35/11-28 S Harden sør was the sixth well to be drilled in production license (PL) 248C. The well was drilled by the Deepsea Stavanger semisubmersible rig in 359 m of water and 9 km west of Fram field to a vertical depth of 3,270 m subsea. The objective of the well was to prove petroleum in Upper Jurassic reservoir rocks in the Heather formation.

The well encountered the formation with a total depth of about 117 m, 29 m of which were a sandstone reservoir with moderate to poor reservoir quality and traces of hydrocarbons.

The well is classified as dry and has been permanently plugged.

Equinor is operator of PL 248C with 30% interest. Parners are Petoro AS (40%) and Wellesley Petroleum AS (30%).
