Petrosibir found minimal hydrocarbons in exploration well Orlinskaya-1 within the Suyanovskoye license in Bashkiria.

The exploration well, the second in the license, reached a total depth of 2,422 m, which was deeper than the initial target depth of 2,362 m. The well targeted four intervals: Bobrikovsky, Domanikovsky, Orlovsky and Kyn-Pashiysky—the common oil-bearing reservoirs in the region.

Core samples showed oil signs in Bobrikovsky and Orlovsky horizons, with no indication of hydrocarbons in the two other targets. Based on core and log data, Orlovsky was tested due to better reservoir parameters, but the open-hole test delivered only a film of oil. The well will be abandoned.

The data will help the company's geological model for future exploration once the new 3D seismic survey is completed near end-2021, the company said.

The Yanbayskaya-1 exploration well is being tested and results will be available later in April.

Petrosibir entered into an agreement in October 2020 with Geoservice LLC to drill the two exploration wells in exchange for 49% equity in license holder Ufa Petroleum LLC, a Petrosibir subsidiary (OGJ Online, Oct. 20, 2020).
