HOUSTON, June 4 -- Omani officials said oil exports might be suspended as long as 5 days after Cyclone Phet halted production.
News reports from the area said production facilities sustained no damage, but rough seas kept tankers from loading.
The storm halted Oman production of about 850,000 b/d. The country exports about 731,000 b/d.
Oman LNG said it was shutting down its plant, with peak capacity of 7.1 million tonnes/year of LNG, as a precaution but hadn’t sustained damage and didn’t expect to miss any deliveries.
Qalhat LNG, with peak capacity of 3.7 million tpy, also shut down as a precaution.
