CNOOC lets North Sea platform contract extension to KCA Deutag
CNOOC Petroleum Europe Ltd. has let a contract extension to KCA Deutag for the Scott platform in the UK North Sea.
The contract extension, for drilling operations and maintenance services, is for 4 years with a 2-year extension option, and came into effect March 1.
The Scott installation comprises two independent bridge linked platforms each supported by steel jackets. The drilling and process platform comprises an eight-leg jacket supporting an integrated deck housing process train, gas treatment, flare boom, drilling facilities and derrick. The utilities and quarters platform comprises a four-leg jacket supporting an integrated deck housing utilities, living quarters, lifeboats, helideck, water injection, power generation, and the exhaust structure.
KCA Deutag has been the drilling contractor on the Scott platform since 1992.
