BOC opens new CO2 distribution depot in New Mexico for enhanced gas production

BOC Group, Murray Hill, NJ, has opened a new depot in Hobbs, NM, to distribute liquefied carbon dioxide for use in boosting production from natural gas wells in the Permian basin.

HOUSTON, Nov. 20 -- BOC Group, Murray Hill, NJ, has opened a new depot in Hobbs, NM, to distribute liquefied carbon dioxide for use in boosting production from natural gas wells in the Permian basin.

The CO₂ is injected under high pressure into production wells to fracture deep underground formations, facilitating gas and oil flow from reserves.
