The first concrete gravity based structure in the Dutch North Sea will form part of a development program for F3 oil and gas field.
Nederlandse Aadolie Mij. BV found F3 in 1974. It extends under Blocks F2 and F6, bringing DSM-Energie, a Unocal group, and Elf Petroland into the development project.
The field is to be on production in July 1993.
Oil will move by pipeline to a tanker loading point, while gas will move to the Dutch mainland through the Northern Offshore Gas Transportation (Nogat) pipeline system. It is to be laid during the next 2 years.
F3 FACILITIES
The F3 production complex will consist of a three shaft, concrete gravity base, drilling and production platform linked by a bridge to a steel jacketed accommodation platform.
The base of the main platform will contain storage for 190,000 bbl of crude. One of the three shafts will contain utilities and facilities associated with oil storage. The other two will house a total of 16 well conductors.
A single process train will have a partial fractionation step in its 23,688 b/d oil stabilization section and a hydrocarbon dewpoint step in the 137 MMcfd gas treatment section.
The tanker loading structure will be positioned 1.24 miles from the main complex.
NOGAT PIPELINE
The Nogat pipeline, is being developed by NAM and Petroland, will be laid and commissioned in two phases.
In the first phase a 93 mile, 36 in. line will be laid from Den Helder to the L2-FA/FB-1 platform and will be complete by October 1991. The 66 mile, 24 in. second phase to the F3 complex is to be complete by October 1993.
Petroland is developing F15 field to be connected to the new line, and NAM will link the L12-Ll5 area and L2 field into Nogat.
Other fields will follow during the next few years.
