Shell lets drilling contract to Maersk Voyager

Shell PLC has let an offshore drilling services contract to Maersk Drilling Co. for the Maersk Voyager to work in multiple countries.

Shell PLC has let an offshore drilling services contract to Maersk Drilling Co. for the Maersk Voyager to work in multiple countries.

The contracts are expected to start this month with a total firm duration of 1 year. The total contract value is about $107.5 million, including a mobilization fee but excluding integrated services expected to be provided and potential performance bonuses. The contracts include an additional 1-year option.

Maersk Drilling and Shell will use the RigFlow solution delivered by Maersk Drilling subsidiary Horizon56 AS. RigFlow standardizes and digitalizes core workflows involved in well construction, including real-time exchange of information between onshore planning units, offshore drilling teams, and service companies supporting operations.

Maersk Voyager is a 7th generation high-spec ultra-deepwater drillship which recently drilled in a new world record water depth, offshore Angola.
