Oil and Natural Gas Corp. Ltd. (ONGC) let a 3-year contract for the J.T. Angel jack up drilling rig to Shelf Drilling Ltd. for operations in Mumbai High. The field is 176 km off the west coast of Mumbai, Gulf of Cambay, in about 75 m of water.
Mumbai High is a carbonate reservoir with three blocks about 1,355 m deep, separated by east–west trending faults. It is one of India’s top producing fields.
Start-up of operations is planned for fourth-quarter 2021.
