APPEA appoints new chief executive officer

Canberra-headquartered petroleum lobby group Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association (APPEA) has reported the appointment of Andrew McConville as the association’s new chief executive officer.

Canberra-headquartered petroleum lobby group Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association (APPEA) has reported the appointment of Andrew McConville as the association’s new chief executive officer.

The appointment follows the resignation of Malcolm Roberts who has served as APPEA’s chief executive since 2015.

McConville has a background in agriculture as well as senior corporate affairs and management roles in the banking and food industries as well as being a former policy advisor to the Victorian state government.

McConville most recent position was in Basel, Switzerland, as global head of external affairs and communications for worldwide agricultural technology company Syngenta AG.

McConville will begin with APPEA in late March for a transition period with the outgoing Roberts.
