Keyera Corp. has let an engineering services contract to Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. for the second-phase expansion of the Wapiti development project south of Grand Prairie, Alta.

As part of the project, Jacobs will design a second 150-MMcfd sour gas processing train to the Phase 1 plant now under construction at the site, the service provider said.

Phase 2 of the Wapiti development project is scheduled to be completed in mid-2020 at a total installed cost of $150 million, Jacobs said.

This latest contract follows Keyera’s earlier award to Jacobs for Phase 1 of the Wapiti project, which alongside a 150-MMcfd sour gas processing plant, also includes acid-gas injection capabilities as well as 25,000 b/d of condensate processing capacity (OGJ Online, June 14, 2017).

Phase 1 of the project remains on schedule for startup in mid-2019, according to Keyera’s web site.
