New Age Cameroon Offshore Petroleum SA is plugging the IM-6 appraisal well on the Etinde block off Cameroon and moving the Vantage Drilling International Topaz Driller jack up to a back-up location (OGJ Online, May 22, 2018).

The well went to 3,550 m TD and had gas shows and indications of light oil in a primary target that logs indicated was largely water-saturated, reported Bowleven PLC, London, a partner.

Instead of drilling the IM-7, which was contingent on success of the IM-6, the operator will drill the IE-4 well east of IM-6 and northwest of the earlier IE-3 well.

The new well will target a sand package designated Drillbit in the Miocene Intra-Isongo formation.
