Statoil gets permit for exploration well drilling in North Sea

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted Statoil Petroleum AS a drilling permit for an exploration well in production license 025 in the central North Sea. 

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted Statoil Petroleum AS a drilling permit for an exploration well in production license 025 in the central North Sea.

Well 15/3-10, related to the drilling of an appraisal well in the license, will be drilled just southeast of Gudrun field from the Deepsea Bergen drilling facility.

This is the eighth exploration well to be drilled in the production license, which consists of parts of Blocks 15/2, 15/3 and 15/6.

Statoil is the operator with 36%. Other licensees are Neptune Energy Norge AS 25%, OMV (Norge) AS 24%, and Repsol Norge AS 15%.
