Marathon Oil Norge AS has let a contract to Technip SA for the extension of subsea infrastructure on Alvheim field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

The scope of work includes installation engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and tie-in of spools and protection covers as well as installation of one manifold. The subsea operations will primarily be performed with divers in 120 m of water.

The project is scheduled for completion in first-half 2016. The offshore campaigns will take place in 2014-16 and will utilize Technip’s diving support vessel Skandi Arctic, which is capable of working through winter in both construction and diving mode.

Marathon previously let a contract to Technip for the expansion of subsea drill centers at Kneler B and Volund in the Alvheim area (OGJ Online, July 24, 2012).
