Saudi Aramco lets Berri, Qatif pipeline work

Saudi Aramco has contracted Global Industries Ltd. subsidiary Global Al Rushaid Offshore Co. Ltd. to install Berri field's water injection pipelines and Qatif field's oil flowlines off eastern Saudi Arabia.

LOS ANGELES, July 24 -- Saudi Aramco has contracted Global Industries Ltd. subsidiary Global Al Rushaid Offshore Co. Ltd. to install Berri field's water injection pipelines and Qatif field's oil flowlines off eastern Saudi Arabia.

Offshore installation is scheduled to begin in September and continue into late 2008.

The project consists of installing 12-30-in. oil and water injection pipelines, two shore approaches, and a number of lateral pipelines and subsea valve skids.

Global said its Global DLB 332 lay barge with diving support spread will install the pipelines, risers, and tie-in. Global also will fabricate and install the subsea manifolds and perform precommissioning work.
