Pipelay work due Northeast Gateway LNG port

Algonquin Gas Transmission LLC, an affiliate of Spectra Energy Corp., has let a contract to Horizon Offshore Contractors Inc. for pipelaying and burying services associated with the Northeast Gateway Deepwater LNG Port being built in Massachusetts Bay, near Boston.

HOUSTON, Mar. 8 -- Algonquin Gas Transmission LLC, an affiliate of Spectra Energy Corp., has let a contract to Horizon Offshore Contractors Inc. for pipelaying and burying services associated with the Northeast Gateway Deepwater LNG Port being built in Massachusetts Bay, near Boston.

The project involves 16 miles of 24-in. trunkline, two 18-in. laterals, and associated tie-ins and pipeline tests.

Horizon Offshore's Lone Star Horizon, Atlantic Horizon, and Texas Horizon vessels will be used for this work.

The project is expected to begin in May and be completed by November.
