HOUSTON, Jan. 9 -- Dave Roberts has been appointed executive vice-president and managing director, Eastern Hemisphere, for BG Group PLC. Roberts joins BG from ChevronTexaco Corp., where he served as adviser to the vice-chairman. Roberts replaces David McManus, who has been named to the new position of executive vice-president, skill centers.
Before joining BG, Roberts served as director, strategic management, worldwide upstream, for ChevronTexaco predecessor Texaco Inc. Roberts has 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and has worked in areas of exploration, commercialization, and operations. Roberts has held various senior management positions with Texaco, focused on strategy, business development, operations, and performance management.
