BANGKOK, Feb. 6 -- PTT Exploration & Production PCL (PTTEP) plans to spend 85.27 billion baht ($1.93 billion) in capital and operating expenditures in 2002-06.

Capital expenditures will be 52.78 billion baht and the rest will be operating expenditures, said PTTEP Pres. Chitrapongse Kwangsukstith.

The focus is on the Bongkot and Pailin gas fields, with 46% of capex.

Future projects, like Arthit field and those in the Thai-Malay Joint Development Area, will account for 46% of capex. The plan does not take into account potential new projects.

This year's focus will be on PTTEP's key projects -- Bongkot, Pailin, and the S1 onshore tract -- which will account for about 79% of this year's 10.3 billion baht capex. Bongkot should produce 567 MMcfd of gas this year.
