HOUSTON, June 20 -- Duke Energy Field Services LLC has signed a 12-year agreement to expand gas gathering and processing infrastructure and services for BP America Inc.'s Greater Green River basin drilling program in Wamsutter, Wyo.

The gathering system will consist of 32 miles of 12-in. and 16-in. pipelines connecting new wells to DEFS' Patrick Draw gas processing plant. A temporary pipeline was installed in February to minimize gas vented to the atmosphere during BP's completion of the first six wells.

The line will enable BP to move up to 5 MMcfd of gas to markets until the permanent gathering pipeline is built and tested later this year.

DEFS will transport gas produced by BP within nine townships in the Bitter Creek and Laney Wash areas on the western flank of Wamsutter field, where BP expects to drill more than 300 new gas wells.

DEFS said over the 12-year period, gas production rates are estimated to peak at 100 MMcfd.

"Overall, this expanded infrastructure will enable new gas supplies to be delivered to consumers within the Midwest market areas," said Steve Blossom, asset manager for BP.
