Production rates remain below normal levels at CVR Refining LP subsidiary Coffeyville Resources Refining & Marketing LLC’s (CRRM) 115,000-b/d refinery at Coffeyville, Kan., amid an ongoing outage on Magellan Midstream Partners LP’s 8-in. refined products pipeline.

While Magellan has implemented temporary measures to allow CRRM to partially increase rates at the refinery, the pipeline operator informed the company on June 30 that the line, which carries as much as 30,000 b/d of CRRM’s products to market, will not return to full service for 3-4 weeks, CVR Refining said.

Until the pipeline is fully resorted, the Coffeyville refinery will continue to operate at reduced rates, CVR Refining said.

The company did not disclose details regarding current production levels at the facility.

Magellan’s pipeline, which extends from Coffeyville to Kansas City, Kan., is one of three pipelines that transport products from CRRM’s refinery to markets.

CRRM first slashed production rates at the refinery beginning on June 7 following Magellan’s announcement of what, at the time, was to be a temporary suspension along the line (OGJ Online, June 8, 2016).
