Medallion Midstream LLC subsidiary Medallion Pipeline Co. LLC, Irving, Tex., reported a binding open season that solicits long-term shipper commitments for firm transportation capacity on the fifth major expansion of Medallion’s existing crude-oil pipeline system (OGJ Online, Mar. 30, 2016).

With the addition of the current project proposed by the open season, and two other projects proposed in two preceding open seasons in February, Medallion’s operations will consist of about 380 miles of pipeline facilities providing flexibility to move production in the region to multiple markets via multiple transportation routes.

These include:

• The Martin Lateral, which is a proposed 25,000-b/d crude pipeline that will aggregate oil from multiple points of origin in Martin County, Tex., and extend southeast to the new Midland Hub in Midland County, Tex.

• The Midland Lateral, which is a proposed 25,000-b/d bidirectional crude pipeline that will commence at the interconnection with the Martin Lateral at the Midland Hub and extend southeast to the existing Garden City Station where it interconnects with Medallion Pipeline’s existing Wolfcamp Connector mainline, the Reagan Gathering Extension, and the Midkiff Lateral. The lateral is proposed to be able to transport 25,000 b/d of crude from the Midland Hub to the Garden City Station and 90,000 b/d of crude from the Garden City Station to the Midland Hub.

The open season ends on May 11.
