Medallion Pipeline Co., Irving, Tex., is proceeding with construction of the Howard Lateral and partial expansion of its Wolfcamp Connector crude oil gathering system east of Midland, Tex. (OGJ Online, Feb. 21, 2014).

On the basis of a successful binding open season, the company said it has executed a long-term service agreement with a capacity commitment enabling it to advance the project.

The Howard Lateral will include about 49 miles of pipeline connecting origin points in Howard County with a new interconnection on the Wolfcamp Connector to the southeast in Glasscock County.

The lateral will have bidirectional capacity of 45,000 b/d. One of the origin points will have adjacent truck unloading facilities to be owned by Medallion Crude Oil Logistics.

Integral to the project, Medallion Pipeline said when it opened the open season, is a 30,000 b/d expansion of the Wolfcamp Connector, which carries crude from Garden City Station in Glasscock County to the Colorado City Hub in Scurry County about 60 miles north.
