Yang named CNOOC’s chairman

CNOOC Ltd. has appointed Yang Hua, vice-chairman since 2010, to the position of chairman. He succeeds Wang Yilin, who has resigned.

CNOOC Ltd. has appointed Yang Hua, vice-chairman since 2010, to the position of chairman. He succeeds Wang Yilin, who has resigned.

Yang joined CNOOC in 1982 and has more than 30 years of experience in exploration and production. From 1999 to 2011, Yang served in a number of positions within the company, including senior vice-president, executive vice-president, president, and chief executive officer (OGJ Online, Aug. 24, 2010).

He was director and president of CNOOC from August 2011 to last month. Yang also serves as chairman and director of subsidiaries CNOOC China Ltd. and CNOOC International Ltd.
