KOC eyes output capacity of 3.65 million b/d

Kuwait Oil Co. has set a production capacity target of 3.65 million b/d of oil, which it hopes to achieve by 2020 and maintain through 2030.

-- Kuwait Oil Co. has set a production capacity target of 3.65 million b/d of oil, which it hopes to achieve by 2020 and maintain through 2030.

The state-owned oil and gas producer earlier had said it wanted to raise capacity to 3.5 million b/d by 2015 (OGJ, Feb. 15, 2010, p. 26).

In its annual report, KOC said production capacity in 2009-10 averaged 2.766 million b/d. Production in the period averaged 2.328 million b/d.

For nonassociated gas, the company has set a production capacity target of 2.5 bscfd by 2030 (OGJ, Feb. 22, 2010, Newsletter). Average free gas production during April 2009-February 2010 was 121 MMscfd against a target of 140 MMscfd, according to the report. About 2.6% of recent gas production was flared.
